Hailing from Glasgow, one of Scotland’s premier cities, come four guys who have been around the music business for many years now.
Dave and Les, identical twins with different characters are both teachers - of different subjects! So many similarities, and so many differences: it’s a twin thing. Of the two Andys one’s a rocker, with Beatles to prog rock influences colouring his writing; the other a twiddler extraordinaire, with roots in pure pop and that ‘West coast’ sound.
Writing and playing mostly original material, they would like to think of themselves as pop writers with a lot of influences, from acoustic rock with a little bit of a rock edge thrown in for good measure.
They had a taste of success on their own label as DHCB and Doublevision, with a publishing deal, airplay on BBC radio, London’s Capital and independent stations throughout the UK and Europe and were gigging in and around the capital. But they couldn’t maintain the momentum as, with families being started and careers taking over, reality struck; and then, when the cost of living forced one of the band’s main driving forces into leaving London, they sort of drifted apart.
But now, fast forward 13 years, and the band are back together. At the moment, they’re just a recording outfit using the web for collaboration. So, where better to promote and make available the results of this reunion than the web itself?
The group is, perhaps, what you might call 'Old School', 'Adult Orientated Rock', songwriters almost from another generation. Now, though, with new technology they can start to realise all the ideas they had way back when, and make huge strides into worlds only 'Star Trek' used to explore!
Now renamed 'iDentical2One', the band has always believed in independent music and, in the late ‘80s, had their own record label and did their own promotion – all without advances from record labels. Still, they got some attention from music industry pros.
But they always saw this as a great chance, thrown away. So, with great pleasure, and with a great amount of dedication and sheer hard work, 'iDentical2One' can finally present to the world their first CD - underscore and that they feel at last properly reflects the passion they have always felt for their music.
